Dove Hunting Lease - $50 Justin Texas

I have a few spots open on a Dove lease 10 miles west of Justin Texas. The ranch is 143 acres, three tanks and a gravel road. There ARE NO SUNFLOWERS Fields. But there is plenty of weed and grass seeds for the birds to eat. This spot is in a flyway so it has either has a lot of birds or a few birds depending on the weather and rain up north. It is a easy spot to get to after work in the middle of the week. There are cows on the property and will pretty much leave the area once the shooting starts

IN Patoka Lake holding draw for dove hunting

Wildlife Management staff at Patoka Lake will conduct two separate in-person drawings for two controlled mourning dove hunting opportunities on Sept. 1, 2020. The drawings will begin promptly at 6:00 a.m. (EST) at the Archery Range Shelterhouse in Newton-Stewart State Recreation Area.
The first drawing will be for a staked position in a controlled dove hunt field designated for Youth Hunters only. This drawing and hunt is intended for youth (ages 12 to 17)  that are new to dove hunting, and are needing mentoring in the sport. Youth participating in this drawing will be required to show proof of their youth hunting license, and must have a parent or guardian with them while they hunt. Only youth will be allowed to hunt in this field, as parents / guardians are expected to mentor and teach their respective youth hunter. A maximum of two firearms will be allowed per staked position (i.e. one parent / guardian and two youth being mentored). Approximately seven (7) staked positions are expected to be drawn for this field on Sept. 1.
The second drawing will be for a staked position in a standard controlled dove hunt field. Approximately 15 to 20 staked positions are expected to be drawn, and there is a maximum of two firearms per stake allowed. Hunters are reminded to procure the proper licenses, stamps, and their federal HIP number. Hunters are also reminded that they are federally required to utilize non-toxic shot of size 6 or smaller, and have their firearm plugged so that the firearm can only contain three (3) shells at any time. Hunters participating in the controlled-hunt will be limited to 50 shells.
Shooting hours for both of the controlled hunts at Patoka Lake on Sept 1, will be from 6:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (EST). Both controlled hunt fields will be closed after 1:00 p.m. (EST). All fields surrounding the controlled sunflower field will be subject to similar time restrictions. There will be no “stand-by” or refilling of shooting stations for early departures on Sept.1, 2020.

Arkansas Private hunting for dove hunters made public in Greene County

By Miranda Reynolds

For sportsmen in Northeast Arkansas who enjoy dove hunting, a total of five plots ranging from 30 to 99 acres can now be hunted.
A local landowner made a deal with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission to make one of the privately-owned plots public. However, these hunts will still require a permit.
The private plot in Greene County will serve Paragould and the surrounding area’s hunters.
“We’ve never had anything like this up here before,” AGFC private lands biologist Bo Reid says. “We’ve tried in the past and just never had any luck finding a field that really filled our needs and would also work out for the landowner.”

The landowner planted the field in sunflowers and the commission paid for the hunting rights.
AGFC used revenue money collected from license sales to pay for it. In essence, hunters paid for this private plot.

You can apply for the permit starting Aug. 1-15 by visiting their website. Permits will be drawn Aug. 16. Dove hunting season begins Sept. 5.

In order to hunt dove in Illinois, a person needs to have a valid hunting license, a state habitat stamp and you must be registered with HIP. You can purchase a license and the state habitat stamp online through DNR Directover the counter from a license vendor, or by calling 1-888-673-7648. Hunting devices, ammunition and garment requirements can be found in the Digest of Hunting and Trapping Regulations. Ammunition size and type is very important when hunting dove in Illinois, especially on public areas.

When can I hunt dove in Illinois?
Illinois has set a split season for dove hunting. Please view our Digest of Hunting and Trapping Regulations for current year hunting dates.

How can I apply for a free dove permit in Illinois?
What do I do if I harvest a leg-banded dove?
We encourage you to report information about when and where you harvested the bird. You will be emailed a Certificate of Appreciation with information about when and where the dove was banded. Your cooperation on reporting band numbers gives dove biologists a wealth of information useful in managing the resources to provide hunters with maximum recreational opportunities while protecting dove populations. Reporting banded birds will only be available through the internet by clicking here.
